I asked one older instructer to drive my car, so he had a better feel of it's abilities. He double clutched every shift and it sounded pretty cool.

I was going to let Scot drive me around but his schedule didn't line up.

I would let Pete, Rob, George and Skip drive my car, for instructing purposes, but not some yahoo I don't know.

What club was this and who was the "instructor"?

Any instructor who spins out a students car is an idiot.
Lol. I knew he was talking smack and couldn't drive it better. Talk is cheap and te fact he tried to blame the vtec tells me I was right. That or he is saving face because he is trying to impress me??

Agreed. Letting someone you're comfortable with drive your car is completely different. I would also imagine those you've listed wouldn't drive to try to impress you.

I've had drivers ask me to take their cars out with them in the car. Honestly, I've turned more down than I have accepted. I hate doing it. I drive them seemingly slooooooow. If it helps them see the line better, fine. It does give me a somewhat better understanding of what a car can/cannot do, thereby better understanding how to addressthe more advanced driver's car-driver relationship. Truth is, the "line" isn't the same for everyone or every car.

And I think I'll try to go to bed now. Work is only a few hours away.

I'm not trying to mean or anything, but double clutching the car with synchros is a pretty stupid thing to try...

...was it a sarcasm?

The old instructor probably raced something with a straight-cut gearbox and just double-clutched everything. Double-clutching doesn't hurt a transmission with syncro's, it's just Old School.

Not only doesn't it hurt anything, it is probably beneficial for clutch/tranny wear.

It sounds really cool too.
