It seems that buying cars already built is the way to go...they sell for a lot less than purchasing the parts at cost on your own. Of course there is always the risk factor buying a car like that because you know it was beat on at the track.

If I had my way, I would have both,
- the BMW for the competition and cheaper running-cost(tires, wheels, brake-pads, spec-parts)
- the S2K for the light-weight and handling

In a track car, the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

PS. I had my diff P-Modded last June. I know what his service goes for.
