Whuz up fellas? Been a while and wanted to see who will be running Honda Challenge 1 or 2 at VIR in October with NASA. Southeast cancelled the October AMP event and is now doing a joint event with Mid Atlantic...... Post up track junkies.
Rob - I'll be there in H1. Saw you at Nationals (online). Looked like fun! Where's your wing?

Who else will be there in H1? MA doesn't post up a entry list.....
It was fun, everyone should go experience the event. I was fine until 2 hours before the race, it started setting in. After turn 2 first lap I was fine, just still reaaaaaal slow.
Just bought a wing the other night. Been putting it off trying to figure out suspension set up first and decided screw it, need to settle the rear down.

Rob - are you cleared to race? October NASA at VIR....
Brenda found out our health insurance won't cover injuries from competitive events so she says no :whipped:

So it's track days and open practice for the foreseeable future
I'm so sorry to hear that.

I didnt think health insurance could decline your claim for the cause of the accident. You'd think drunk drivers who hurt themselves in a crash would be declined as a matter of course if that was the case.

I'm sure you have thought of this, but any chance of getting a rider on the policy to cover it?

What do you track guys use for tow hooks, two OEM ones or do you buy those fancy racing ones or JDM ebay specials? Having to get towed out of the gravel on saturday by my wheel kinda sucked.

Using OEM (part no. 74717-S50-000) for now... ~$5 oem vs. ~$120 aftermarket... prices seems ridiculous...

I use JDM special from ebay. It held up fine a couple of times that I had to use it Just make sure that the base is steel and not aluminum.

I previously had 2 oem hooks. I went oem mostly for pricing differences as you pointed out. Welding a steel hook on would probably be a lot stronger though.

Details on your off track excursion?

I use the stock ones but the one time I was towed out using the front one, it bent at a 15 degree angle to the car. I have been told they tend to snap off but have not experienced that.

All the cool guys are using short tow straps now. If you do get JDM tow hooks I recommend the folding type.
