2012 Track Junkie Thread #2
Thanks all for your support of the NASA MA Fall Finale Nov 3-4 @ Summit! This is the 4th? one and it pretty much sold out last year... as long as people keep signing up, we'll keep doing it.
Personally it is probably my favorite event of the year. Looking forward to seeing S2k friends both old and new there
Thanks again,
Jon

Bring your car.
Just in case you guys did not get the notice aboout this:
TrackDaze Members,
NJMP loved us so much they asked us back! So we decided to add another event to the schedule this year. We are headed back to NJMP - Lightning Raceway on October 29th and 30th. Yes we know it gives you 4 weeks to pull your car back out of storage, but why not get one last event in before the end of the season? Any day at the track is better than a day at work!
In order to run this event we need a certain number of participants by October 19th. IF we do not get enough participation the event will be canceled AND everyone that registered will get 100% of their registration fee refunded. This event will have only 3 run groups and no in-car instruction available. There will be a couple of classroom sessions. That means you will get over 5+ hours of track time for a ridiculously low registration fee!
So head on over to http://www.trackdaze.com and get yourself registered! Registration was opened this morning.
One last small note: We are in need of more instructors for our upcoming Shenandoah Circuit event this Saturday and Sunday, October 6th/7th. We are allowing Saturday Only instructors if you can only make it for one day. If you can help out we'd surely appreciate it.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

I'll be taking the car to allen automotive in silver spring... i think i've been there before, good guys to work with...
I was hoping to do the Friday Open Practice tomorrow but Brenda is childhood friends with Allen Johnson, the current points leader and past NHRA Pro Stock drag racing champion. We're heading up highway 81 to Pennsylvania for this weekends event. I've got to remember to bring my ear plugs and gas mask.
I may do the FATT on the 12th but definitely the Seat Time on the 15th. I got the new, medium size splitter installed and I found that my right front shock's compression was set a lot stiffer than the left front--Skip, were you messing with my shocks while I was out instructing?
I'm also running less caster up front (was running 7.5 degrees) and less toe-in in the rear. I think I've been running too much compression for my springs and too little rebound so I've made some adjustments and can't wait to see how the car responds. I know, so much for the "One change at a time," rule.

you could come to VIR that weekend and school the "Over the hill Corvette Instructors Gang." Yes, they have a large banner that actually says that. We've got 7 entrants in H1, 3 of which are S2000s.
I'm getting ready to trash most of my interior trim pieces unless someone wants to drive out to Shepherdstown, WV and pick them up for free. I'll sell my soft top with frame and motors for $100.
