Rob - Too early to tell for me. I would definitely like to make it to one of them.[/quote]
If anyone goes to mid Ohio will anyone be bringing a truck or trailer that I could borrow some space for tires?

You can borrow my tire trailer if you like.
Finally cured the slight vibration and twitcheness of Beepbeep yesterday while at highway speed. Turns out all four tires needed rebalancing and the two Axle nuts were not tight enough. Quantico hobby shop balance all four tires for $28, cheap compared to NTB $50 ++. The axle nuts were taken out, greased in the bottom surface, reinstalled and torque to 220 lbs. Sure enought the old stake on both axle nuts were moved to 3 o'clock from where it was, just like Billman says.
Slight vibration gone even on all (high) speed and the twitcheness disappeared. I was running very stable yesterday during heavy downpour. Gives me more confident in manuevering the S. It's amazing how a little weight in the wheels can affect the dynamics of the ride and the 18" wheels exagerates the effect of improperly torque axle nuts.

Vibration was probably the wheels/tires not being balanced properly. The axles nuts should not make a difference in terms of feel (if they did you would probably also need new bearins). Glad to hear you got it fixed, a nice sports car with steering wheel vibration is just miserable.
Come to think about it, you are right. I was wondering myself what is the correlation of axle being a little lose to the handling being twitchy since wheel hub is being held by control arms. And the axles are free to move laterally. I dismissed the bearing as being faulty because I just had them replaced (prematurely) early last year. And I do not hear squeaking or rubbing from the wheels area. One other thing I could point to be the cause would be installing one of the tires in the wrong direction, because they directional tires and only about 400 miles on them.
I ran across this today and thought I would share. The guys at MotoIQ (the old staff of Sport Compact Car magazine), referenced Robs website on their Project S2000 track car.

They just mention the site in the blog discussion after the article.
@JDM, I researched Walker's blog before I started this project. I also researched the Sport Compact Car S2k suspension shootout. I also researched a few other outlets. Unfortunately, 2 years ago(!) when I was planning out this project, there weren't a lot of heavily tracked S2ks. I'd say in the past year, the information available has gotten much better on the forums. Rob Robinette has a great site too (http://robrobinette....0TrackEvolv.htm).

Yo da man, Rob!

Directional tires mounted incorrectly might lead to funky handling (especially if the inner and outer sidewalls are not identical.
