2013 Track Junkie Thread
I had a great time this weekend despite having to watch from the sidelines. It was great to see everyone and meet a few new S2000 track addicts.
Kevin, thanks for letting me drive your car on the skid pad. I'm uploading the video now, but knowing my luck with YouTube it won't work right.

Sliding around the skid pad. You have to click the watch on YouTube button then click full screen to see a lot. Apparently when you film with the GoPro sideways and then rotate it the sizing is terrible...

Awesome weekend at the track! First off I'll say thanks alot to Dave/Tom for setting up some big tents and chairs which gave a lot of us someplace to rest in between runs and also for grilling. Thanks also to Dave/Tom/Oleg for letting me borrow some tools throughout the weekend. I was fighting the flu and not having to sit under the rain I'm sure helped. And of course thanks to Kevin for giving me pointers throughout the weekend and beforehand. It was a pleasure to meet and talk with fellow s2ki members, everyone was very friendly which was nice.
Regarding the event, I was overall impressed with how smoothly things ran, and 4 30min sessions each day is a lot of seat time. This was my first track event and I'll definitely be going back. I had a great instructor (Bob) who gave me great input, and took me for several sessions in his miata which helped tremendously. Long story short, I'll have to seriously think about getting a roll bar eventually so I can participate in more events.
Overall by the end of the 1st day I had a good feel for the car and I like the way the car is setup. Yesterday I was able to really enjoy the driving more as the car was very predictable and neutral with very controllable lift throttle oversteer. I'll u/l a video and you guys can comment/critique on where I need to improve.
I had the stock looking yellow ap2 for anyone that doesn't remember my name (I'm bad w/ names myself).

Here I think is one of my better runs of the weekend. Tires were starting to get a little hot but doing well. I think I could be a little harder on the throttle and brake later/harder but I was trying to work more on my lines and hitting the apexes/tracking out (I still flubbed a few clearly). Video size is limited to 3mins due to the editor I used. I think my lap time is ~1:51 timed from the flag station after you enter the track. Forgive the girly wave at the start, I learned that from my instructor.
