Looks like his wheel cracked, Steve.

The trunk was dented by a 'slight' off coming out of 2 in the rain. Tire wall absorbed all of the impact.

I had what sounded like a wheel bearing noise from the right rear. Pulled everything apart on Monday night. Bearing was tight. One of my friends had trouble with his car and I got pulled away when reassembling everything. I didn't tighten down the caliper bolts enough and they backed out. Caliper flipped down and machined straight through the wheel along the straight by the bridge. Freaked me the hell out!

I "could" have passed for the win in T10....
I left the door open, but there was no chance you were going to win that race!
My strategy of taking the access road shortcut in turn 1 did not cut as much time as I had planned....

Rain - Yes, next time I know to pass John immediately at the start and then tap you off track in the first turn.

Nice wheel! Must have sounded great.

We're both basically new to Thunderbolt right? I instructed on it once a couple of years ago but barely remember it.

So should be pretty even. But, your suspension cost 4x more than mine so if you win I have built in excuse. haHA!

Bump and run?! Is that how its going to be?

I did a Lemons race at Lightning last year. One guy on my team didn't show up. The other two drank too much on Friday and couldn't spend more than 30-45 min in the car. So I have about 6-8 hours of seat time at Lightning. Never turned a lap on Thunderbolt. I'm about to download the track for GTR2 so I should be able to get a fair amount of practice in before the race.

Motons are over rated! My brother has the H1 Lightning lap record. Did that on stock suspension.

Next week will be fun! I have only 1 weekend and 1 day was rain.

I WILL go faster in rain if I have wipers and can see where I'm going.

Paddy DID have the TR at Lightning until I reset it a few weeks ago. 1:13.9 BOOM!

I've heard of other calipers doing the same and I had a front back out-luckily someone else caught it before I got on track. Also at an HPDE. Lucky for you no further damage and wheels are inexpensive.

13s in lightning? That's flying!! Were these on A6? Fastest I've gone was low 15s on RA1s.

Honda Challenge spec tire is the RA1 so its safe to say that was not done on an A6.

I'll have to let Paddy know his record has fallen. I need to get him out to more races. Hopefully next season or after things settle down with his kid.

Yes, the key with LeMons is for everyone on the team to drink too much the night before. This levels the playing field between fast and slow guys and ensures no one driver hogs up the seat time.

I've got a question for you track guys that have more experience than myself.

I was replacing the front upper control arm bushings, on my 93 rx7, with powerflex bushings. While reinstalling the upper control arm I fouled the threads on the bolt that attaches the ball joint to the hub. The bolt is approx 40-45mm long and is threaded for approx a 1/4 inch once completely tightened down. Long story short I no longer have threads to put the bolt back. I have changed to sliding a bolt through the hole and fastening it with a nut on the other side. I currently have a grade 5 bolt doing the job. However, I'm second guessing the grade 5 bolt handling the forces necessary and ordering a special bolt online to get grade 8 strength rating.

Is this necessary or am I too paranoid about it?

Almost done with all bushings though. Can't wait to try it out.
