A perfect a race car is a s2k with over 300k on her. Haha. Surprisingly old girl is holding up well to the abuse I put her through. Track was so much more fun this weekend, partially because I think my balls got bigger.

Had a fun time driving the NJMP Lightning this weekend. The drive is about the same or maybe a little shorter than to VIR, about 3.5 hours. The facility is beautiful. The track itself is pretty fast, yet not overly technical like a Shenandoah. The things that make it interesting are elevation changes and blind crests. The best thing is there is a lot of runoff room into grass around the entire track pretty much, so there is room for error in that respect. I think NJMP Thunderbolt would be more fun for the smaller cars like the S2000, I'll have to keep an eye out for an event there.

Thunderbolt is fun, I like it better than lightning. Both are worth the drive. It is only about 2.5 hours from me so much closer than VIR.

The 818 looks very interesting as a dedicated track car. It looks like there's a possibility of a coupe version too but I like the look of the bodyless chassis, has a kind of an Aerial Atom look. With no bodywork it would be super easy to maintain too. At 1800 lbs with a WRX turbo that thing will scream. It's going on the short list of S2000 replacements.
