I just sold our 2006 STI with 56k miles. They are expensive track cars. Plenty of wrecked ones around, they seem to be a favorite of the street racing 18 year old crowd.

STi no good! Has to be base or WRX. On a related note I lost my 3rd engine last week so I'm going to sell my race car and get something more reliable on track like a Miata or maybe an 818.

Sorry to hear about that third engine lost, Rob. I think 818 will be perfect for you since you're good at building stuff and you can post it online for us to salivate.

That sucks, Rob. If you are thinking about a Miata and plan on going with a cage make sure you sit in a finished one first. I am sure you have been in one at some point but just want to make sure you're aware of just how small they are.

I have a F20C that I'm (eventually) going to pull if you want it. From what I have seen WRX engines are much less reliable than S2000 engines.

This is what worries me about the 818 unless you went with a fully built EJ255 from Element Tuning or such.

Rob, were your bottom ends all stock? I can't recall.

I've never modified the head or bottom end of any of my engines. They've all been 100% stock.

If you pre-order an 818 today you're pick up date would be somewhere around August 16, 2014. That's providing that everyone in line ahead of you will follow through with their pre-order. Ask me how I know

Congrats on your pre-order purchase of 818. Jason. I guess the LS RX7 will be for sale soon?
