All you need to do is clamp or plug your PCV valve during the track event. The valve cover will still be vented via the large diameter vent at the front of the valve cover.
I actually found a thread with you saying just this after posting, thanks! I have a little filter on the front port which vents to atmosphere but left the OEM pcv going to the intake manifold.. Looks like I'll just throw a catch can on before my next event and vent to atmosphere.
I'm sort of surprised you are still having those issues with an 06. I thought they mostly fixed those problems with the valve cover redesign.

Slowteg I checked my video and the only time I seen it on camera was t10. Obviously though if it happened there its happening elsewhere on track.

I'm a little surprised as well, as I thought people said the AP2 valve cover was better, but after a search still seems to be a problem. Good thing Ed and Kevin pointed it out because I didn't have any idea it was doing it. By the time I check my rear view mirror coming out of turn 10 I don't see any smoke. Ah well, catch can is only about $100+. If I wanted to be super ghetto I could just have the crankcase ports dump to a tin can.

I've been running an AP2 valve cover for a few years and had just as much trouble with oil suction as with the AP1 cover. I ended up going with simply venting my catch can to atmosphere through a filter. I pulled way too much oil from all the vents when connected to the intake (either before or after the throttle plate).

Ya I'm not a believer that the crankcase needs to see vacuum, I think it's done strictly for emissions. Venting to atmosphere is the way to go. Only minor annoyance is having to switch the lines every couple years if the emissions guy is strict.

If want a little more than a tin can catch can you run this for about $600 for stage 1 and 2.

I saw that catch can setup and while it's nice, holy moly that's a lot of coin for a little tank with some hoses. I'll likely just buy this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181073056374

So just planning ahead to make me less depressed, the next tires I get, should I get:

a) BF Goodrich Rivals - $808
b) Bridgestone RE-11 - $728
c) Dunlop Star Specs - $704
d) Hankook RS-3 - $624
e) Kuhmo Ecsta XS - $656
f) Toyo R1R - $780

I know Jim gave one vote for the Rival. So many tires, so little track time to try them all out.
Anybody else have a vote?
