Just ordered a set of Rivals and my spring maintenance package (brake pads & fluid, oil, tranny fluid, diff fluid) to get the car ready to go for the year, can't wait to take the cover off!

Anybody use those Centric or SoS inverted front rotors? I'll be due for rotors probably after my first track day this year and thought they might help with temps some since I'm not hacking my bumper to make ducts.

Also, we added a new track junkie to the family last week; Ethan was born last Wednesday at Anne Arundel Medical Center. My deal with the wife is no events until August, and no VIR until next year, but I can deal with it. Whole weekend events are out now; I don't want to be away from him for too long .

I figure once he's older we can make a fun family weekend camping out of it, anybody doing that already? I saw a few families doing it in the event I ran at VIR last summer.

Congrats on the new munchkin! Remember to sleep when the baby sleeps!

Sorry.. I had to say it.. people say that crap all the time, but it's virtually impossible. I want to punch people when they say that crap. Welcome to the "no sleep" club.

Some helpful advice.. things are forever changing. Once you get used to one routine, it means things are about to change again. Their bodies don't work properly and won't for a while. Spitting up/throwing up/etc. is normal. Babies and schedules don't work. Travelling with them (say to visit family) is actually easier the first few months since all they do is sleep/eat and don't move.

Congrats. Its a lot harder than you think it will be is all I'm going to say.

I thought about using the girodisc rotors, I think they would be the only ones that might potentially make a difference in heat, but I ended up just getting a BBK.

Congrats on the new baby! Perhaps yall should start a Mr. Mom thread and discuss the safety feature of the Caravan.

Stoptech has a set of two piece OEM replacement. They would probably do as good or better than the Girodisc, but I think they are slightly more pricey. Also, Project Mu has a set of two piece stock size rotors. Performance Friction had one with their new Direct Drive floating attachment hardware, not sure if they still make it. In my opinion I would probably say PF > Stoptech > Project Mu > Girodisc ...would be interesting to see how long they would last.

Kevin, the Girodisc stuff is better than you're making it out to be. They aren't wildly popular with the s2k crowd but it's still nice stuff. There have been lots of good reviews on them too.

Haha I never said the Girodisc was bad...I saw some of the S2000 reviews on them. I'm just saying that the other three brands have a little better history and heritage with racing.

The performance friction floating attachment is like a work of art really..

I think any would be a significant upgrade if staying with stock calipers.

Yeah, IIRC the pricing for the PFC rotors was around $750-800, a couple hundred more than the Girodisc. I believe the replacement rings were around $180-200 ea.

$800 just for rotors? Are they stock size?
