2016 Track Junkie Thread!
The evos will fit, but you won't be able to fully open the glove compartment and it kinda pushes into the door liner; other than that its good! I don't know how important all that stuff is to you but when I put the seat in I took out the rear bulkhead and all the plastics associated with it. I also put harnesses at the same time. In my opinion it is kinda futile trying to have a street/track car, you can't really maximize the car's potential on track without compromising it on the street. I understand you're just using your car for occasional track time, but when you get into the realm of modifying the car for track use (i.e. safety equipment, competition coilovers, etc.), it is probably cheaper and easier to just buy a car already converted for track use. This way you can have a track car to beat up, and be able to enjoy your s2000 on the street and maintain its value. This is all in hindsight of course but that's just my two cents. /soapbox
That's probably the smart thing to do, but I want to have my cake and eat it too.
That would be a quasi deal breaker for me regarding the EVO seats. I don't foresee going to a full track car, and a lot of the fun is modding things and seeing how it affects things as well as becoming a better driver. I've done a decent number of mods and I only have a handful or so more mods I really want to do (we won't count FI
) until I stop modding and just drive it. I'm definitely trying to build a "club racer" sort of car that I drive to the track and drive it home. There might be a time when I might want to throw it on a trailer just for peace of mind, but I like keeping it streetable. The beauty of a dual purpose car is when there's a lack of time to goto the track you can putz around on the street and enjoy the car with the top down.Did you keep your CR btw?

In any case, if you do decide to get a track car, I want to sell mine so just let me know dude! It is a national championship winning car and track record holder
Nah I put it in a wall going 100mph, I was able to walk away from it though thanks to my safety equipment. In fact, I went to the gym the next day. I can vouch for the benefit of a Hans and I highly recommend using one. I won't go on track unless I'm wearing one. Yeah so the car was totaled and I sold it to the insurance people. My provider covered hpde. I made sure it wasn't an exclusion before I started tracking. I had state Farm in TX.

Looks like you have done a crapload of track days though. I can only aspire to do as many events as you've done over the last few years.

O RLY? what color is it? AP1 or AP2?

but yea I know my insurance doesn't cover HPDE and I have too much confidence in my own stills to buy track insurance
Another reason for my to sell the CR and have a dedicated track car.

I was inspired to read through my policy and looks like travelers doesn't have an exclusion for HPDE's/driving events, unless I missed it, but I think I'm correct. Don't everyone go switching to Travelers now and tell them it's because of their HPDE coverage.
In the event that I ball my car up on track I wonder if it's really worth making a claim though. Assuming it's worth say $15k stock (proly worth a few more but I'll be conservative) subtracting mods (which are recoverable) + parting it out + future "bend over please" premiums due to an insurance hike I'm not sure the "gain" is worth it. If I had a beautiful CR those numbers obviously change.
Wow really, what's next for you? Also any details on it? If you're practically giving it away I'd be obliged to take it off your hands.

Or at least that is the plan. But I didn't win the powerball bro so I gotta get some money for it.
Dude telling my wife I crashed was probably more dangerous than the actual crash lol. Thankfully I was in a different state.

As far as I know most insurance companies don't cover anything on track, so it I guess it's just rare exceptions. I guess thats why the old timers say 'don't drive a car on track you're not afraid to write off'.
