Registered for August Dominion and August vir with trackdaze. If Dominion falls through, I'm going to do Summit open track in august. Anybody else in these?
If NASA got the green light to run it'll be interesting to see what people say from that event. Seeing as how it's been cancelled umpteen million times (ok, only a handful
), I doubt the dates will fill up that quickly so can probably register last minute..
We'll have to hear from those attending the NASA event in a couple weeks to see how the track is..

Definitely looks very sketchy in different areas not far off track. For actual racing it looks very sketchy.

There are a couple places with zero runoff but your going in a strait line or the concrete barriers are on the inside. Minus 1 section I can see. There are other places with a ton of runoff and I noticed there are tire walls at the end of every strait.
Every track has some safety problems. Shenandoah has almost no runoff the entire course and gets unbelievably slick when wet. Summit Mane had a concrete wall at the end of turn one for years and also have deer running around on the track. At vir you can put the car into a wall at 130mph.
It's just another track with its own set of issues. We all accept the risk when going to the track.

BUT, you would think with a clean slate / brand new track, you'd consult the professionals and minimize the issues.
I guess they did the best they could with what they had.
Yep, I get it Derek that no place is perfect per say, but as freq said, with a new track designed from scratch, you would've thought there'd be a little more thought put into it. From an HPDE standpoint, sure, no big deal. Actual racing though with walls everywhere it leaves much less room for error. Ultimately of course it's nice having another track, it's just a huge letdown to many folks in terms of expectations.
