You know how much power exactly?

It's power/weight. 10:1 on bigger than 275, 9.7:1 on 275's and either 9.3 or 9.4:1 on 245's.

So if you race at 2900lbs (with you) you can make 290whp on 285's or bigger, 299 on 275's and 312ish on 245's. Unless you race at over 3k lbs's, don't even consider bigger than 275's IMO. Honestly, the only place where a 275 might be faster than a 245 locally is at Summit. 245's will be faster at VIR IMO at 2800-2900lbs.

Anybody think about venting the stock fenders instead of going aftermarket?

I have before....the benfit would be for venting heat from brakes but not the engine. Youd have to cut or remove the liner.

LMP1 and P2 teams do it to release the high pressure buildup in the wheel wells. It might give a small benefit towards minimizing drag, but I don't think the cost(effort) / benefit is worth it.

Hey All! It's been awhile since I've posted around here. I'm dying to get back on track and really have an obtainable goal set to make the November NASA event this year. Here is where my 818 currently sits.

All of the body panels are just clamped in place. I'm still finishing up tweaking the front end to get the fenders to sit where I want them. I've been through numerous ups and downs but have made some great progress in getting the car on the street.

-Doors and liners installed - minor tweaks left.
-Windshield installed.
-Heads rebuilt
-Brakes are all done.
-Cooling system is all done.
-AWIC system is done.
-Has been driven around the neighborhood gingerly as it still needs a tune.

Needs:
-Install headlights for updated front end and re-wire harness to accommodate new headlights.
-Bolt all panels to the vehicle.
-Install quik latches.
-Install body vents.
-Install hood hinges.
-Hook up tail lights.
-Install license plate lights.
-Finish Interior installation after body is ready for final assembly.
-Add steering rack equalizer and give it a better rough alignment.
-Adjust e-brake.
-Install harnesses (hook ups already welded in place).
-Get street legal.
-Get Tuned.
-Center exhaust exit.

More Pictures!

Finished the doors this weekend (minus some tweaking).

Future home of Spa Dual Gauges below my longacre control panel.

All aluminum fuel tank from Boyd peaking out.
