BTW, didn't find any showers but doesn't mean they don't have them. The garage on first level of main building was used as tech.

Rocks: Yes, because construction. The fill dirt has rocks and DR did some last minute fillings at a few locations at track edges to eliminate drop off at NASA's request. So when anyone who clips the apex a bit too tight a bunch of rocks, dirt and dust get thrown into the track. This should be temporary. They will plant grass once construction is completed. Check out this clip from a racer and you'll see what I meant: https://youtu.be/boAVcRgVVMk

DR has potential. Just need to complete the construction and polish the finer points.
Gotcha that's what I figured. Ya racing sounds very sketchy there (as racers will drop off tires) but for casual HPDE'rs it should be ok. It seems like they have quite a bit of work to do to make it nice. It sounds like a work in progress.

Had a great time this weekend at Dominion. I was driving in 3 and did not see any other s2000s in my group.

Here is a video of my fastest lap of the weekend(street tires, stock shocks with CR springs, no aero--I have intake and full exhaust):

https://vimeo.com/176031271

My take is this--great facility overall, although the walls are very close through the first half of the track. A friend of mine totaled his vette in turn one. The esses all the way through the tunnel to the front straight was my favorite section. That air-conditioned building they have there was a life saver in the 100 degree heat. The ability to watch half of the track from the 3rd floor in air conditioned comfort was awesome. I think this may make the track a favorite for very hot weather events in July/August.

Also they showed gumball rally on the big screen(my s2000 is in the lower left of the photo for scale)

Snowmant - I was in the red S 777 across the paddock from you. Still in HPDE 1 and hoping to go into 2 soon. BTW, that was a FAST lap.

A few more S sightings: a Suzuka Blue in HPDE 1. He is FAST. A NFR in HPDE 2. Sorry didn't get your name. We talked for a minute at the end of Sunday.

N/M I just realized that clip wasn't you Winters.. I'm going to guess that SM wasn't intentionally dropping off a tire, unless he did it everytime.

On that note who's on for August 16th with TNIA? I'm going to sign up. It looks like they'll finally green light it as it's a good 3 weeks away and they can do some more improvements and looks like other clubs are finally running at Dominion.

I will be back at Dominion again Sunday August 7th with track daze! I hope to see some of you there. My next event after that will be VIR with NASA August 20-21(sat-sun).
FrostyWinters--come say "hi" next time! I will also try to do the same.

The track is super smooth and grippy so you can run really stiff spring rates if you want. Deff put your sway bars on a stiff setting because there is alot of transitions. Also, since there is only one strait, the s2k seems to be doing very good.

I dont have video but ill be back at dominion in 2 weeks and will post one at that time
Is your car turbo? I saw a red s2000 with big inline pro stickers. Hitting 115 in the esses is super fast. I think my fastest was like 105 there. I think the fastest I hit on the front straight was 117-118.... Did you end up having a mechanical issue? Someone there said they saw a red s2000 smoking badly and thought it dropped out for mechanical issues.

That was me!! I was the NFR s2k with black fenders and 777 numberplate's.

I thought Dominion was awesome but being it's first event not surprised there are some kinks that need to be worked out. Yes its bumpy.. Yes the rocks get on the track.. Yes there are some gators that need to be shaved down (and some that aren't even there) and yes the crowns suck (especially on turn 7) BUT!!!!! Dominion has heard all of our "complaints" and are taking notes. It's a technical track and is going to be great for the Mid Atlantic region. Kinda bummed I'll be moving out to CA before the next event but hey, Laguna Seca isn't a bad track to have in my backyard

See yall at VIR!!

Ya that was me, threw a rod in the middle of the esses. No turbo, running a v6, but Ill be back out there and driving in 2 weeks.

I will say its much cooler in the front paddock since it isnt paved. We should rally everybody up there next time.

Which one of you was my student btw lol
