As a last minute decision, I decided to take the Viper to a TNIA event.

The car performed as advertised. I felt like it could go all day long even if I was only going 5/10ths.

I was invited to an Open House Event w/Bertil Roos Racing School at The Drivers Clubschool (Dominion) and supposedly I'll be able to get free 2 sessions on the track. It also includes free food!! What a win. Lol. Anybody else get the invite? It's hard to say no to free track time!
Very cool man! Nice to see people running these cars on track rather than putzing around slowly.

The danger I imagine with having a car like this is it can make the S feel a little boring. Good thing though is you can really hone your skills in the S and take the Viper out once in a while for fun. If I want a faster fun car down the road (and have money to burn), I'll definitely have to consider a Viper.

Good hanging with clark at nccar. Track is absolutely brutal on tires. NASA said it's been 6 years since they have ran there. They have a nice downhill sweeper in turn four that i was touching 105mph in. So fun

Good to hear you guys had a good time. Anyone interested in doing a 1 day event next friday 9/16 w/ Trackdaze at Dominion? I'm seriously thinking of going. It's 1hr from my house and it'd be nice if I had some company with some familiar faces. If I don't do this event it looks like I'll probably have to wait till Oct for a track day so I will probably jump on this event. It's an "open track day" which requires you to be approved to ride solo w/o an instructor. The format is 3 sessions with one long open session for all the groups at the end of the day.

Anyone interested?

I saw SCCA has a 1 day event at Dominion next month but it's $330 for 1 day which is a little steep imo.

So I'm signed up for next Friday. We'll see how Dominion is. It does look like a fun track regarding layout and elevation changes, I just think the lack of runoff, poor curbing, and poor planning will always be a big black eye.. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Quick question for everybody- my car is grinding slightly shifting to 4th whenever I have the car loaded in a slight right hand turn. There are two spots on this track where this happens. Kevin mentioned that his Ingalls torque damper thing would help this. In my effort to keep the car stock enough that my wife will still drive it everyday I really want to avoid putting aftermarket engine mounts in. I do need to check the stock mounts though. Any other opinions on the torque dampers?
Just in case anybody finds this and wants an answer, the torque damper did not fix the problem. The damper has some adjustability built into it and I didn't not mess with it yet but I doubt making it stiffer will cure the problem. It's a very small problem and only happens maybe once a session so I'll probably just work on getting the car less loaded for the shift or short shift before the turns where it is a problem.
