Well Varitek started all of the smack talking, and hit a-rod once before that shot. Not to mention he still had all of his equipment on...

varitek did whal all catchers do in that situation, walk the batter down to first so he doesn't get out of control and rush the pitcher. he prolly said keep walking or whatever and a-rod didn't like it... who replied with FU several times and bring it. That's what happens when your trying to be a tough guy.
