My code reader cost $65 from AutoZone. Works great.
I have had one for years and have used it very often. The +1 can't tighten a gas cap

It usually won't clear itself for a few days if you just tighten the gas cap. The reader will clear it immediately. Could be anything though. O2 sensor?

Yea bro. Just go to auto zone. Give em your Drivers liscence and check it out. Your reader port is under yoru dash on your passenger side. Plug it in with the car off. Then turn the key but dont push the ignition button. The OBDII should lead you the rest of the way. Oh, write down your CEL and then check out the under the hood section for the code. They have a CEL guide list at the top of the forum page. Good Luck.

For some reason I recall that it clears itself after 50 miles.

Well The gas cap was the FIRST thing I thought b/c I filled up a day or two before. I checked the gas cap and it was rather loose. So i took it off and tightened it back on. Turned off the car and started it back up. Still a CEL. I definately havent driven 50 miles yet so we'll see if that works. Like I said, the car drives normal, its not burning oil (checking it about everytime I get out of the car for an hour or more) and its not using more fuel than normal (like it would if an O2 was out) Im gettin up to autozone in the am so pull the code. Works owns me right now.

Autozone, or stick a paperclip into the plug and count the blinks in the pattern on the dash. It worked on my civic..
