This was just brought to my attention tonight. I had a client of mine call me up and ask me my opinion about this setup they had already purchased on a whim but wanted a "ok" from me before they opened everything.

for $1199 its not bad considering I just spent $1100 on a loaded Studio 15 for my g/f for x-mas.

Check it here.

I'm highly tempted to buy it myself but I just built 2 new computers for my office.

Well, I know that video card requires 350w, so I'm good there(case comes with 500w ps; case gets a good rating on newegg). They build it. If something doesn't jive, they'd inform me. Most times, or so it seems, sites that have configuration models do not allow you to mis-construct or throw pop-ups at you to alert you to a discreptancy.

I wouldn't take that system for granted.......EVER.

Good luck on the build skip if you decide to move forward with it.

Personally, for people that don't care too much about upgrading or what not I suggest Dell desktops. I just bought my mom and grandpa a Studio XPS 8000 desktop.

20" LCD widescreen
6GB ram
2.6Ghz Core2Duo
~500 GB hdd
2 DVD-RW drives
1GB nvidia card

$1000 shipped

The system requirements in the first post of this page are my minimum requirements. As such, I've foregone the idea of getting an i5 processor in favor of the i7. That alone adds almost $200. Thank goodness I'm not in need of a high-end video card nor a monitor.

If the video card is going to suck down 350W, I would want a heck of a lot more than 500W out of a power supply, especially considering many supplies have a difficult time supplying their rated power, and the i7 alone sucks down 150-200W at peak. Also, matching memory up with motherboards is one of the biggest PITA... my current system sat dormant for the first year all because the memory wasn't properly matched.
