Clutches. and stuff
I obviousally need a new clutch and I dont want to replace it with an OEM. It wont hold past 4500rpm. The clutch has already been replaced once when the new motor was put in. ( the motor had a factory defect and caused it to seaz from oil deperation)
i have around 2500.00 and I need new back tires, spacers, tuneup, tranny flush (royal pruple) and Hopefually some sort of suspention. and a clutch kit.
i dont think I will need a new flywheel. and I have 2 good mechanichs willing to install it for about 300-450.00
Any advice on what clutch? i plan on boosting.
any advice on where to get used suspention, or a decent setup for now?

Oem disk, Act pressure plate, comptech flywheel.
It's the pressure plate that is not holding.

The reason (to my recollection) to just go with the OEM disc is because the ACT is the same disc but more expensive.

Go with the hardtopguy kit. ACT pressure plate, OEM friction disc, your choice if you want to do a lightened flywheel, but it probably should be replaced while you have it open. This is a proven - MANY times over - kit that works well for NA and FI applications. It's the most streetable while still providing good clamping and hookup.
I believe the reason for the OEM friction disc has to do with noise, springs, buzzing, etc. Basically it's good for up to ~400hp. Should cost about $925 in parts with OEM flywheel. Add a few hundred for a lightened flywheel (I went with the ACT, but to be honest, I can hardly tell).
