Convicted
Well, as a couple of you knew, I had court today. I was charged with 102 in a 55 and eluding. The only "evidence" that they had against me was that the car that the officer clocked before he lost it, was small in size, yellow, and possibly of foreign make. The officer didn't even know if the car that he clocked was a convertible. He admitted that he lost sight of that car, and then saw me, and pulled me over. Somehow the judge found this to be sufficient evidence and found me guilty on both charges. I was sentenced to 6 months in jail, $13xx in fines, and 5 months loss of license. My appeal date is July 13th. I find this ridiculous, how can then convict me with that, or lack there of, evidence?
Good news is, my license plate ticket was dropped because of lack of evidence.Somehow the cop actual seeing that it wasn't mounted properly on MY car isn't enough

This is a good reason to sign up for track days. I would never try to out run a cop no matter how fast I was speeding. Gook luck with your appeal.

That's a terrible injustice! ...and makes you wonder about our justice system. Make sure your lawyer gets a transcript of the proceedings -- if available (so that the cop can not change his testimony). I had something similar happen to me in North Carolina and fought it tooth and nail 'till I had it reduced to a lesser charge. This is one of those situations you don't want to skimp on the lawyer. Hope everything goes well. Good luck!
