Because I used to live there, I now go as little as possible.

My question to you and to Rashad is do you know EXACTLY why that cop was headed to that shop? Could it have been that he was there for professional reasons and not as a customer? They do that, you know...
I was going there too thats how I know it was him. Same two guys in the car, same car number, inside ordering donuts and coffee

hey thanks man! you dont know how great it is to hear that!........i dont get that alot, actually i get the opposite alot when some folks see me in uniform.

Cant get raelly mad at them though, they have their own rights and opinions. Just remember whos their to help without a second thought when ish hits the fan like 9/11.
9/11 ZOMG 9/11 ZOMG

I seriously wish that the military will stop using that damn horrendous day for their own gain. The firefighters, the financial workers on the top floor, the police department, and the countless civilians don't hang it on their chest like a badge and neither should you.

Yes you might be in the Army at this current point however you can't bring up 9/11 like a person that isn't going to graduate bringing up how he got an A on his elementary algebra test.

1 soldier, will encounter more battle in 1 deployment than an officer will in a 20 year time span.

Ask brad (00stoned) and his friends if this is correct.

Also you need to state deployment into an actively hostile area... don't think anyone is gonna shoot at you at that nice plush base in korea.
i guess i shouldve clarified.

A DUTY station........and DEPLOYMENT is Different

i can get sent to hawaii as a duty station....i was deployed there

when you get deployed, it means your sent to a hostile environment war zone........IRAQ, AFHGANISTAN, KUWAIT ect...

So in a Deployment? yes, more soldiers encounter combat daily in a deployment.

People in the military use that as their justification for overzealous behavior with, "You don't want another 9/11 do you?", from the patriot act with strong military backing all the way to Guantanamo bay where we violate the Geneva convention.

I'm done with this topic. Just for the families and individuals that died on 9/11... for god sakes stop using that as justification for the actions of many years to come.

not using it for justification so much as i am proving a point. its the closest event we have so far within the states.......

I would Much rather go over seas to fight them on their soil, then have them come over here and terrorize our lives.........

I actually think out of the 10 or so people that I know that was sent to Iraq and hostile zones.. beside for the occasional mortar that hits the roof of their chow hall or the random Iraqi shooting from the bottom of the hill, only one person ever encountered any sort of fighting, that was actually from roadside bombs that would explode and do nothing every other time he was on a convoy.

i'm saying for a deployment purposes. i'm not gonna argue with you over this because you have your own opinion.

i never ONCE said i'm hanging a metal on my chest for that even though i was there to help out.

When i said for 9/11, it was because since the terrorists did what they did that day, we were called upon to help and fight as well. I ALSO never once said that the firefighters ect dont get credit because they do. And yes from what i remember, i do remember the people there and in the pentagon saying the same thing.......civillians, firefighters, sodliers alike..........

again......im old sonny. Been wearing this uniform since 99. I WAS THERE!!!!!!
