Corrado bought a Scirocco!
Yesterday I picked up a 1980 Mk1 VW Scirocco with a 1.8L 8v for rally-x and winter driving. The body needs some work but the mechanicals are strong, the electrical system is largely bug free, and the interior is in stellar shape for its age (cracked dask and worn drivers seat).
Those who do auto-x with CDC in Bowie may recognize it or its previous owner who now runs a blue Z3 3.0 (and complained when I showed up in the S2000 because he gets beaten by you all, good job guys).

• 1.8 8V RD motor
• 268 cam w/adjustable gear
• Ported and polished head
• Ported and polished intake
• Neuspeed TB
• TT downpipe & exhaust
• 9A 5spd tranny
• Neuspeed short shift kit w/weighted rod
• Peloquin Diff
• Bilstien HD shocks
• H&R OE sport springs
• Neuspeed front upper & lower stress bars
• Neuspeed rear upper stress bar
• Big brake conversion w/PowerSlot rotors & EBC pads
+ a spare 1.8 JH motor and 3 extra sets of wheels with 2 sets of tires including a set Falken Azenis RT-615s and a set with Hoosier slicks.
Snow tires come soon plus some body work and fine tuning. I'll tackle my first rally-x with the car at the start of the 2010 season. All in all I think its a fitting replacement for the mechanically deceased Corrado.
