I'm glad your ok. That really sucks that the car is totaled.

I'm not sure if this applies to your situation (any attorneys out there?)...

Back in my college days I rear ended a pickup truck. The truck and driver were fine, but his bumper destroyed my radiator so I couldn't go anywhere. I got a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

At the hearing, the driver did not show up and since there were no witnesses to the event (even though I explained it all to the cop at the time of the accident), the charges were dropped.

Were there any witnesses?

I'm gonna nip this last post in the bud before everyone becomes an attorney. "Too fast for road conditions" charge do not need witness's. This is up to the police officer. A police officer does not have to see the accident to write this, just the outcome when he gets there. This is a very vague charge, however, given that it's been pouring like it was back in the days of the Ark, it's assumed that he was going faster than what the conditions warranted. Even if he was going the speed limit.

Glad to hear that you were OK. That's amazing. Don't overlook the potential significance of being given a second chance at life. Wow...

Thanks for the info... I wasn't sure if the same outcome applied.

The whole incident amazed me... I was guilty, I admitted it to the cop at the scene, but I got off scott free. I didn't even open my mouth at the hearing. Ain't justice great

I am going to try and get some pictures up soon guys. State Farm picks up the car tomorrow. We are going to negotiate figures to see what I can get for the car. I got the car a few weeks ago for $20k, only had 25k miles on it. I'll keep you guys up to date.

Man State Farm is gonna rape us all one of these days. Last few wrecks have all been SF... including my own. Good luck man. They were very fair with me.
