Now don't get me wrong. I thoroughly expect to enjoy seeing a bunch of inexperienced drivers smash up a perfectly good set of Panoz race cars. But does this really qualify as a celebrity race?

I wasn't there on Saturday for the celebrity race. How did it go? On Sunday, Panoz threw out the hood/front fairing for the #8 car. The front left had a big chunk missing.

 

We didn't bother watching it, but this morning on the radio they said the Kim Alexis/William Shatner car hit the wall and Ian Ziering did a 360. Steve Harwell from Smashmouth and the Congressman from California won the race

 

I just saw the "qualifying" but I was really struck by how slow they were going. I'd bet any of us could have outrun them in our unmodified S.
