I don't have the car back yet... They decided to replace the entire door...
May I present... S2000 Door as Art:
Thank you. I can't WAIT to get rid of this BRIGHT YELLOW SUNFIRE (which someone still managed to miss and put a nice little ding in. I should ride a bike.)
You are entitled to "diminished value" under the law. Send Pat Goss an e-mail patgoss@sysnet.net . He can give you great advice on how to deal with the insuarance company. Also let your insurance company know what happen for their records. They can also hep in this matter.
Pat Goss? As in Pat Goss's Garage/MotorWeek?
He uses Sysnet (sysnet.net)? Poor guy. I used to work for them.
Not the best ISP in the world, to put it mildly.
Skip: They've had the car for a little over a week - took me some time to get it all together, and with the holidays.
My insurance company originally said that they would not provide diminished value if they were only replacing the skin, but considering the extent of the work, I think things may have changed. They're replacing the molding around the top and the window, as well as replacing the mirror assembly (going to get that and reattach it to the door, now hanging on my wall).
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all the advice. I'll continue to pursue the diminished value claim.
