Here is another update, the event planner from the Rocky Gap resort called me back and she is going to work up a similar offer and create a package for us.
with a Saturday Breakfast and Dinner,

Now this resort is much larger and can acoomodate a lot more people

If we get a larger crowd interested this maybe the way to go. I am thinking we set this up like the Dragon events. No real structured drives, just small groups can go out and explore the area, with some suggested routes

Wow,

Right now we have about 21 interested parties; if everyone gets a room the B&B would be booked.
I won't need a room. I'm a little over an hour away. I'll show up Saturday morning for breakfast and hang out all day. If I have fun...maybe I'll come back down Sunday?

If we need to look at a bigger hotel/spot the Rocky Gap resort is just down the road, their listed rates are about $ 175 before taxes per night. Is that cost going to scare folks away?
I'm not fortunate enough to have a +1 (maybe a good thing?) to split that with. Anyway that price may have me looking the other way. Any other singles lookin to share a room? I swear I dont bite (often) and I shower every day

I agree that numbers of cars driven on public roads should be contained somewhat. I have no interest in trying to keep a group of 50+ cars together plus VA police appear to like writing reckess/racing tickets.

Oct 22/23 may well work for the autoX part, I 'll have to check with the powers that be but I should be able to get cones/timing/radios/flags etc equipment for an autoX. Assuming there is enough interest in an autoX componenet that is, getting the equipment will require a large van type vehicle (which I do not own). Lot location remains an unkown variable but I can design a course almost anywhere. I will have to look into liability issues and insurance (many places will not let you use a lot unless you have group coverage).

I prefer a group of around 25 cars (could be broken down into two or three groups of 8-12 cars which makes things a LOT easier).

In any event count tentativly me in (and + 1 of course).

That would be awesome if we could do a drive on Sat and an autocross on Sunday.
