You can also settle for the 6800GT, which is more around $200. I would say the 7800GT is a better buy, but if you need to keep it around 200 the 6800GT would work.

!? Alex, are you running it black and white, with 8 bit textures?
You play random maps online? I've been itching to play with a human... playing the comp is getting old.

I just bought the game, and no - I've got full color but I am running details on medium. There is definitely a difference in screen flicker when I drop down to 1280 x 1024 - and that is where I am currently playing it.
Let me beat the campaign and play a few single skirmishes before hooking up online.

Sweet I'm running a X800 Pro. Running the game at 1920x1200 at either the medium or high levels. Chugs at times, but it's playable.
I first played the hell out of skirmish and now just started the campaign. Just did that mission where you had to impress Lizzie.
I actually prefer to play 2x2 (or 2x3) where me and a human play against computer opponents, if you want to warm up that way after you finish the campaign...
I'm around the level where I can beat the hard computer 1x1 with giving it about a 20-30% handicap.
