Default Fuel smell!

hey guys. i uninstalled the comptech setup a while back, and everything is stock and good now (save the fuel pump)...except there's a fuel smell emanating from the front (I think it's from the engine bay). It'll leak into the cabin if I don't have the recirc. switch on, and my fuel economy is down noticeably. the scent is always stronger under braking too.

this all started a few weeks after i've ran stock problems-free. i didn't notice any lines or hoses disconnected, and i'm thinking about rechecking the fuel rail washers. anything else i should look for?

thanks!

oh yeah, any PDR recommendations in the NoVA area?

Did you get new washers when you went back to stock or did you reuse the old ones?

washers, injectors, ...
did you have to tap into the stock fuel line for your setup?

check the injector o rings, where the fuel pressure regualter used to be, also prime the fuel system at check around the pump too. I don't think anything else in the fuel system is touched with a comptech sc

PDR in NoVA

Alan Moorefield
Dent Clinic : (703) 378-8885

He came out to a subaru meet when I owned an STi to pop out some dings. He does excellent work and has a real eye for detail. Also fairly priced.

I would check the return line. That should be the only line that should have been messed with for the s/c. The return line goes to the FMU, and from the FMU to the fuel rail. Maybe it got a small hole in the line when it was removed/reinstalled.
