Default Gathering information

Ok so I know several of you folks are running s/c or turbos and I am at the point where I want to spend some $$$ on the S.

I have owned an s/c car before so I already understand the power gains, what I am looking for is any feedback you can provide with what kit you are using, what you over all experience has been with reliability etc.

I plan on doing the HTG clutch and maybe the comptech rear diff, what other items might I be surprised with and needing to upgrade?

Thanks in advance everyone for the help!

Too many variables. Bolt-on only or add'l performance? Highway jockeying or light-to-light? Etc.

I know the 2 kits available, what I want to find out is what kits you are using and what if any issues you have had.

Vortech SC, HTG Clutch setup on a stock S2000.

problems = none.

5000miles with occasional autocrossing in there.

305rwhp on a dyno dynamics

IMHO, you can't go wrong with either. I just like the sound of vortech better.

Comptech with really small pulley, EMS, injectors, etc- no problem. Failed spark plug= big problem.

Either kit in stock trim is fine and you won't have any problems. The Vortech makes a little more power, but requires tapping another hole into the oil pan. I think the Comptech air box is better- personal opinion.

With the sc, I change(d) my oil more frequently than when NA... almost 2:1.

As for dyno numbers in July with 85% humidity, 371rwhp.

Wow, I didn't realize you had so much power, Skip. Not trying to hijack the thread, but does smaller pulley = more power? (I, unlike S2KinVA, have not done my research.)

Chris, I am more than happy with my Vortech. The powerband is amazing and the car pulls so freakin hard above 7k. I have it stock right now with stock FMU and all. I do have an upgraded clutch (exedy) but for a while it was on a stock exhaust. I have since bought a JIC that makes it sound like a race car It really doesn't get better than Vortech in my opinion

let me know if you have any questions

Vortech/Toda FW/ACT/EMS/750 injectors
- Stock motor over 100k
- Daily driven
- Redline bumped to 9500
- few minor probs; blk box that came with kit was faulty and EMS had to be sent
back to AEM for update
- No probs after that until owner over revd motor
- total miles until it started running like a vespa...10K
