Default Glue lexan window onto fiberglass hardtop

Hey guys, I ordered a FRP Mugen-like hardtop and decided for some reason to forgo on having Forbidden gluing the glass in. Has anyone done this before? Need some help...would appreciate any feedback!

I have some ShoeGoo I can lend, you might end up with a few fingerprints .

Can you un-forgo your decision? Seems like a job you want experience with.

Yeah, I'm trying to contact that guy Craig on here that replaced my windshield a few months ago.

Or I could just leave it out...added weight!

No glass company would touch mine, ended up doing it myself using 3M window weld, got to to it again due to a new hard top but havent painted it yet but it's fairly simple there is a write up out there on it.

I had a friend who worked for Safe Lite and came by with his work vehicle and installed mine with their resin. Has been on the car for 4 years now and no problems. I just filled a small space with bath and tile caulk as an added measure.

I used the 3M window weld as well. Keep in mind- the seal does not have to be stretched tight onto the hardtop or it will want to pull itself away from the hardtop later on- not referring to the inner seal that sits in the groove, but the flat part on the outside.

I've done several and I use 3m window seal(the black stuff) to install them. best way to do this is to set the top up so the rear window is pointing up flat. run your bead of glue where the seal will go and lay the window/seal in place and make sure it's straight. then get some freezer zip locs(big) and fill them with sand and lay them on the window around the seal. this will hold it in place till it cures. it will also make sure the seal is pushed down far enough to get a good bond area. hope this helps you out.
