Got to drive on the Shenandoah Circuit!
We were leaving for the day at Summit Point and stopped to admire the new course. A SUV stops by and a couple tell us if we would like to drive our cars in the track to get a feel for it. It was Bill Scott himself! He said, "Do 10 turns one direction then 10 turns the other direction". It felt like an Elvis sighting.
So we thanked him and pushed the cones aside and on to the course.
It is waaaay technical. Not a course for newbies. If you do your first FATT, please do not do it on the Shenandoah Circuit. You will end up with a banged up S2000. Or you will go so slow someone will slam you from the back.
There is no runoff room in most turns and some sections are just one car wide. I can see myself easily hitting the tire walls. I definitely will do this in the cavaliers my first time out there.
It is a course with so many different configurations, it feels like a maze. I kept trying to figure out which would be the most likely "long course" and no matter how I drove in it, I could not find a long straight. It is all curves, up, down, blind turns, a "two level" turn not sure how you go through here.
Anyway, next year should be exciting. The track is almost ready ...

I wasn't able to run the track but did watch a onboard video from a race bike, I don't think he got past 3rd gear. Maybe only reaching 110 or so and down to the 30s in some of the corners.
The track is super tight, and the tire walls are way too close
In theory it should favor our cars with all the tight corners and switch backs. Maybe a equalizer to those damn Z06 Corvettes I always seem to have to wave by on the straights.
I am still learning the main course and have been driving there for years. This one may take longer.

I think motorcycles might be better on this course. And, karts, the course is ideal for shifter karts. Maybe it is time to invest in one of those. I have an 8 yr old, so I think it is time to introduce him to the sport and justify to the wife that we need a shifter kart
