gotta reckless today..
To the OP... I would highly recommend that you get a lawyer. Even if you get convicted at your trial, your lawyer can appeal it. Based on your record, your chances don't look too good.
As for the cost of lawyer fees, I'm sure your parents or whatever your funding source may be, could afford it considering how much you pay for car insurance. GL.

As tough as it may be, you should consider selling the S. I can't tell you to do it outright, but you should draw up your total monthly car-related expenses and figure if it's worth paying. For me, insurance and tickets mounted up and I sold my AP2 last August. It really sucked at the time, but looking back, it was the best decision for me. I bought an MR2 for a quarter what I paid for my S and have been saving a sh!tload of money since. If I wasn't saving for other things, I could almost afford to buy an S outright and not deal with a car loan. Just consider all your options.
Oh, and if you still need a traffic lawyer, I got one for you. He's helped a lot of my MR2 buddies out.

Just yankin your chain, my wife actually as an MR. Definitely a fun car
I dont know about taking driver improvment just yet..... when i got my reckless in VA Beach, I took the course before i went to court, when my lawyer showed the judge the certificate, he set it down and said," I love it when people try to use their credit card to get out of trouble". He completly ignored the fact that i took the course.....just a suggestion.
$570/month for insurance already?
I think it's time to ask yourself: "Why am I driving an S2000 at age 18?"
$570/month is the car payment on a Lotus Elise!
When I was 18 I was driving a 10 year old Honda prelude, liability only paying about $50/month on insurance, heh.

Couple things:
1: SLOW DOWN!!!!
2: That insurance is INSANE!
3: I would sit down and rethink your priorities on owning an S2000.
Now that that is out of the way, you say he/she wrote you a "speeding ticket". You need to check the ticket and see what he/she actually wrote you for. Did he/she write you for Reckless or did he/she write you up for Speeding 82 in a 55?
The cop might have been nice to you and only written a speeding ticket and not a reckless ticket.
If he/she wrote you just for speeding, pay the ticket and move on. If you take it to court the judge has the ability to change it into a reckless charge (others can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm pretty sure I'm right).
If he/she wrote you for reckless, hands down get a lawyer. Oh, and remember, don't drop the soap....
