Default Hello from Hawaii

Hello !

I will be moving to Maryland, Anne Arundel county in the following weeks. I will be driving my s2k from California to Maryland starting Nov 2nd ish . Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I have never been to the east coast before, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is the best route to take? I heard I-40 is the most scenic? but there might be bad weather?
Anybody driven across country before? any advice on GPS? any must-go spots?
The S2k will be my DD, do i need to get snow tires? will all season tire work?

Thanks in advance!
-Tom

welcome~

im not sure about the cross country drive, maybe you could ask in the forums of the locations that you're going to be passing through.

as for the tires, you'll be good with whatever. i had my re070s all through the winter and had no problem - but be sure to keep a bag of salt or something in the trunk hehe

If you want, I have a set of winter wheels/tires for cheap. Drove with them last year, and they were much better than the Summer tires I had on the previous winter.

Good luck and safe travels.

I-70 is the most strait but you have to get over the 11,000 Vail pass in Colorado. If you are just in your car you won't have any problems but trucks and anything towing anything else will.

I-90, IMHO, is the most scenic but the furthest out of your way. It is pretty far north.

I-40 is nice if you like the desert and no real hills/mountains to climb.

Good luck and welcome to the Mid-A!

Welcome to the Mid-A. Just make sure that you have alternate routes planned, just in case. PA and WVA have been known to have snow/ice on the roads at the time, especially if you're going over the moutains.
