Help with summer housing!!
Hey guys,
I am interning in Washington D.C. this summer and am looking for places to live. Does anyone know any good neighborhoods that I should be looking for? I am not that familiar with the area. I just need a safe place near to a metro station. I am working for the Senate, so I think that's close to the red line? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you know any furnished sublets that are available that would be awesome too. Thanks!

Patrick,
Depends on COST and Time issue as well. What are you looking to spend and how long is your internship? Do you need a parking garage?
Furnished apartments are not a problem, plenty to go around. Especially around Pentagon City area. Here are some of my opinions about my friends' places in DC metro. These are my opinions/impressions.
My buddy used to live in Crystal City (Crystal Plaza 4 or 5). It's off of blue/yellow line, but a simple switch to red line and you should be at work in 15-20 min. I like the location and you get a parking spot in the garage. (Fully Furnished)
His brother works for the supreme court and lives near National Zoo off redline, but his place is really really tiny, seemed old and no cover parking. (They offer fully furnished apt as well).
Nurse friend of mine lives in Bethesda, MD off of red line (Grovesner Place or something like that), but train ride takes about 30min to get to work in DC. I think they have furnished apts avail. She likes it there and the place and surrounding are nice.
I live in an apt (no fully furnished apts avail) 5 min drive from DC/Pentagon. I would offer my place for your internship, but my Sister is going to stay w/ me until October, and then I relocate.
Try search under www.apartments.com and check DC (try to stay away from SE D.C. and you should be fine - my opinion)
