Default how to get dealer to replace top

well on saturday.. my girlfriend was moving out my car from the garage so i can change my oil when she hit the garage with the soft top.. apparently she used the remote to open the door and when she put the remote back down something hit the button and brought the garage door back down and now my soft top has 4 holes.. one in which goes all the way through. and theres white scratch marsk on the top..i have the 8 year warranty with the car so i was wondering if i clean up the white spots what could i say to the dealer for them to replace it.. and which dealer in the nova area is more leanent..thanks

You F-ed up and now you're looking for a freebie from the dealer? Poor thinking, IMO... makes prices go up for the rest of us when we have legitimate repairs.

That said, good luck convincing them it's a problem needing a remedy at their cost...

On second thought, here's what you can say that will get them to replace it... "Here's $1,500, call me when it's ready to be picked up."

I think its the greatest thing when people f-up and try to bring there vehicle to my dealer and say its a problem with the car. I had a guy come in with his 06 gti with 25k on the car and the clutch is slipping tried to say the car had a defective clutch. Mean while front tires are bald and the stock air box was crudely re-installed. You could tell the car was abused by him. To top it all off he didn't like the fact that i called him out about running his car at the battle of the imports, i saw him there.
This is all you buddy, C.O.D

it would have to be at least believable that the top wore holes in itself from use, which, if I remember correctly happens on the 00-01 near one of the bars? I really dont think that your holes are going to be able to say that to the dealer.
