Actually Keith, I'm much more level headed when getting into my ride at the track. I still get an adrenaline rush, but the ability to process info and act on it quickly and calmly is something that takes some seat time. I'm at or near that point now.

In a 20 million dollar airplane shooting an approach down to minimums through a level 2 storm with 30 people on board... im calm.

10 mins in the grid anticipating the drive gets my heart going... I love it!

No doubt that I'm more amped trying to get to grid first and waiting than I am once we start rollin'. I'm getting better at controlling that though through breathing and visualization.

Well, if you are in group 3 then you don't need no stinking instruction right?

Actually, I have found it is virtually impossible to instruct my wife at the track and hard to formally instruct friends. The friendship part gets in the way of instruction which is why I usuaully pass (and sometimes the friend feels compelled to show off a little and push it a little harder than they should).

But I often hop in friends cars (or they hop in mine) for a single session just to get some pointers/suggestions. I'm happy to do that with anyone here at anytime.

except for you Skip.

Great idea. Let's meet somewhere in Tyson's Corner between 7:30 and 8:00am. Gates open @ 9:30 am on Saturday and Summit is about 1.5 hours away, right? I have not been there in a while.

Who can make it?

1. PJCC
2. ???
