Hyperfest - June 23-24.
you know the hyperdrives are not HPDE, right?
at NASA events they mix in HPDE sessions with the race groups on the main track. they have groups 1, 2 (students) 3 (solo qualified) and 4 (instructors and sometimes the faster solo cars)
Hyperdrive is a mini session over at the Jefferson Circuit. It is meant as an intro to track driving, you go out for 1 session (20 min?) at about $40, take a few laps with an instructor who will show you the line, then you drive the rest of the session at a controlled pace with them observing how well you can hit the line around the track, car control, etc.
showing up there with track tires, souped up motor, etc, may not get you as much as you might hope for, there is not enough time for the instructor to think you can be safe at higher speeds and will throttle you back to where they feel comfortable with what they can see as your skill level, which starts the session at 0.
the intent is to let people who do not think the higher speeds over at main track are for them (or their car), and they need a taste to get it out of the way, or, get the bug and start showing up for the main event
