Just wanted to put my 2cents in Pointy. Haven't been on here (S2KI) for long, but I have to say that you did an excellent job as CO man. I hope you stay on board and stay with the community either way.

J, that is complete & utter If you were "always here" and "lurk alot" than you would have seen this post and commented much earlier - it has been here for a week now.

Jerianna, you need to step back and see the bigger picture here. You just openly stated that "work has finally picked up here for good" and that you "don't have internet access at home". The Mid-Atlantic group this year has almost gone straight into the trash can.

Okay, I love you both, but this is crazy.

We all have things in life that takes priority, work, income, lovers, paying bills, etc. will be on top of that list before this deal. I for one, have had the hardest 6 months EVER. J has a new job, a re-newed life with a younin that she has to pamper, and all the BS that comes with that, and the other personal stuff. So, I agree that if you can't spare the time, or the effort, you must give it to the ones that can. But I don't think we should make this personal.

Chad... you are the Salt that makes Pepper good. So I think you should back off the salt a little and pepper your words with some kindness.

J is my friend, as well as you, and I hate it when it comes to this mess, but remember above all things, it is this group of like minded peeps that, regardless of your station in life, age, etc. that has been very close, and fun to be with. I think things can improve, but I think it starts with US. Me and YOU. My motto has always been "step up, or shut the **** up"... that is why I ran for public office. I believe in leading and not standing in the background complaining about the way things are. Lead or get out of the way.

To be honest, I feel like you deserted HAW, and took things way to personal. Again, I understand why, and I understand the reason. But when you deserted the forum, you kinda lose the power to vote. Making any sense here??? I want everyone to love everybody. No need to point fingers. Hell this is all about cars, chicks, having fun, driving, and did I mention CHICKS RULE!!!!

I miss April. And Rob

Anyway, I am not mad at ya, or anyone here, but if we start throwing darts, then feelings will be hurt, and it will be very difficult to make things right. So think about what your contributions have been, and will be, to make all this right. I did, that is why I have had the pool parties, and poker games. I wanted everyone to feel like they were welcome.

And look no further than Sherwin's short life as an example of how short this life can be, and how special every single day is. Cherish it, smell it, hold it, grasp it and squeeze every precious moment you can, because tomorrow it may all be gone.

:stepsoffsoapboxandshutsthe****up:

Love ya

Mark GOOOOOOooooo.......

one more thing I want everybody to think about, is how one of our own lived a life that made such an impact on others....jezzzzz if you read all the things about this guy you will be sad just because you didn't get the chance to meet him.

this is one of the MANY tributes and wonderful words about a guy that made a differnce in so many others lives.... take a minute to read and I think you will understand why I think this is the greatest damn group of folks in the world.

Mark, I can completely see where you are coming from. If my post did seem as a direct attack at Jerianna than I do apologize. It was not meant to be an attack at her directly as a person, however only to unveil what is very apparent to me as a member of this community.
If my personal choice to leave the HAW Forums should render my vote on who should be the future Leader & Community Organizer of the Mid-Atlantic Community - then I am truly scared to see the direction of this Community over the years to come. The HAW Forum is a Corner, it is nothing more than a place to daily chit chat and post some ontopic things, as well as numerous off-topic things. Personally I chose to stand back and stop posting in that thread for a number of reasons, some personal however also due to the fact that it was getting tiresome for myself. Just take a look - the first 20 or so HAW Forums I had the most posts. Some things just get old over time. love ya Mark
As well, I am not stating directly the fact that since Jerianna has a life outside of S2Ki that she should not continue to be a Community Organizer. I do not believe that position of Community Organizer should be filled by a popularity contest, or who is on the boards posting the most, or even who has the most "modified vehicle". I believe that we should look for someone with great leadership skills, someone who is willing to give to the Community, someone who wants to see the Mid-Atlantic Area grow forward - not peak and hold. (Centrifical > Roots ). I have been told before that Checkered Flags Internet Sales Department is the number 1 internet department in the area - it does not stop me from trying to sell more cars.
Mark, I do understand where you are coming from with the "put up or shut up" comment. I do realize that I personally did not host, plan or even gather interest on any events yet this year for the Mid-Atlantic Group. However does that truly make my opinion null & void? Does that mean that every single Citizen of the United States is not worth of an opinion on the Presidental Election since they personally did not attempt to run themselves? In my ROTM Threads I have been lucky, there has not been any negative feedback on any of the vehicles themselves. If someone did though my comment would be the exact same, "get some nominations next month and see how you do." The point still remains though, they are entitled to any opinion and some people feel the need to state it. In this situation, I did.
Whether or not I like Jerianna as a person is completely beside the point, so I hope everyone will please spare me the - "Chad is this getting personal" because this truly is not. My point in stating everything that I have said in this thread is for the better of the Mid-Atlantic Community as a whole. These are my opinions that I wish to share with the community. Some may look at them and say, "Okay, well I disagree" and I am fine with that. However, some may feel the same way - some may believe that this Community is in the need of a change.

Only time will tell.

Again Jerianna I can easily see where my post could have been taken as a direct attack at you personally, I do apologize.

I am glad to see how the Mid-Atlantic members are all very gracious and kind. I hope everyone has a great time at Quantico. Mid-Atlantic is a great community. Now, it's time for a group hug! After a huddle, I am sure we will have a great 2006.

Chad's 1st posting was defintely not subtle. I don't think anyone is advocating kicking J out of Mid-A or saying she is a bad person or anything like that. I have heard some concern voiced that she had gone missing and as a CO that wasn't a good thing. I'm not sure there is anyone in Mid-A who doesn't like J and has not had good experiences with her. She is defintely a good ambassador for S2ki in general and Mid-A specifically.

As someone who attends few meets I certainly have no say in the matter of who the CO is, but common sense says it should be someone who is active here. Life is a series of change (except gogo who owns the same car for 36 years ) and if J has other priorities in life right now I say for her.

You got it Chad, that was my only real point is that you made it to personal of an attack. My stump speech may have been harsh too, and directed at you. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. I agree that we need a leader that has the talent for leading, and getting people together for more events. Even if it is just a short meet for coffee, or a evening of pool and beer. We have slipped a little in that area. I think Alex was a good CO and J too. But could they do/done better? Sure, I know at the end of many days, I look back and say to myself "I could have finished that report, if I had stayed off S2Ki for three hours'.

Anyway, point and counter points well taken.
