OK, so the internet sucks as far as trying to find something not so main stream commercial as far as a short week-end getaway for me and the lady.

So I've come to S2KI. Having just obtained this GF (01 AP1) and spending A LOT of time with her as of late, seems I've neglected the REAL GF a tad bit and I'm trying to plan a sweet weekend trip out of the Virginia Beach area, where I live.

So where have you all been thats a reasonable distance from my area for a weekend trip that was fun. Not necessarily all romantic..blah, blah, blah. Any ideas would be great and much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

the best treat for a girlfriend is usually cheaper than you imagine. send her flowers at work by surprise, meet her at home with a card and a nice meal that you prepared yourself. could be had for less than 30 bills.

Can you narrow it down a bit? What kind of stuff do you like to do? Outdoorsy things? Long road trips to nowhere? Bed and Breakfast? Fancy dinner and drinks? Historical type things? I mean, you could head up to Skyline Drive and see the sights, you could do the Jamestown/Colonial Williamsburg thing, you could go check out Luray Caverns, or you could have a fantastic dinner/drinks/hotel type thing at dozens of different spots.

I'm not really looking for a definitive answer..just whatever..some ideas to populate my brain with, haha.

Definitely a trip/somewhere to go. We both enjoy pretty much anything, new things that are different/out of the norm are cool too. Whats something that you've done...maybe a memory of something around abouts the area that you found to be great for two

The ideas mentioned above all sound great and are worth looking into in my opinion.

I figured asking you all, I'd get a flood of ideas..??? Maybe not??? J/K

Any ideas, you have one or two ideas or maybe a story to tell post 'em up.

Thanks!

When the weather's nice I like to put a mini grill the trunk of the s2k and drive up to this reservoir in northern maryland. It's a really scenic, back road drive, and then find a nice spot on the lake to picnic / grill.

But the outdoors is a crapshoot with the way the weather is right now.

Rent a cabin in some woods somewhere. Throw logs on the fire all night, drink wine till you puke, bang like bunnies and play board games.

Cheap, fun and different from the usual weekend getaway.
