Mechanic to inspect S2K at dealership?
I've wanted a S2000 for years and finally decided to buy one. I found a perfect one, however, it's 3000 miles away in Virginia. Can anyone recommend a mechanic I can pay to inspect the vehicle at the dealership? I'm a little nervous buying my dream car sight unseen. Thanks.
I live right by that dealership. Check out what Edmunds prices it at outstanding.

Well according to that Edmunds link, the price with that mileage in outstanding condition should be a little under $22,500. So the price is a bit on the high side, however, were also in the part of the year where prices of convertables tend to go up due to the weather. I sold a 2006 NFR with under 15k miles for $21,000 a couple months back (OK, it wasn't mine, it was my girlfriend's father's car), but I'm sure you could talk these guys down to a more reasonable price provided everything checks out well with the car.

It's a decent dealership that sells, in their words "excellent condition used vehicles" from what I could tell it seems relatively true. The car I looked at was pristine condition.
As to a mechanic to look it over - I deal exclusively with Wallace Automotive on Research Rd, which is right up the street from them (2 miles at most). John Hope and Aaron Williams are both EXCELLENT technicians and looked at my S2000 prior to my purchasing it. I would highly recommend them if you're serious about the car.

Shoot me a PM before you contact them and I'll shoot them a message and let them know to expect you - maybe hook you up on a deal

*edit* That said I did think their price was a tad high on the car I was looking at, but could be negotiated I think.
Thanks for all the replies. I didn't check the price on Edmunds, I used KBB and it lists a comparable car at $25,400. I wonder why there is such a huge disparity between the two websites.
Hyman is similar to CarMax. They have a no haggle policy and won't budge at all on the price. I have been searching for a good condition GPW for almost 2 years
If you search for GPW's, you're hard pressed to find ANY with this few miles. Back in 09', when I was searching for GPW's, I was scoffing at $21k for a GPW with less than 10k miles. After waiting for 2 years, not only have the prices not decreased, prices for GPW actually shot up. I've regretted waiting, I should of just bought the car and enjoyed the heck out of it.
I've given into the fact, this is the price I have to pay for GPW.
Also, if I do decide to buy the vehicle, Hyman will ship me the car for $250.
