Just checked Summit Point's site. Looks like the first FATT that isn't waiting list only is August 6. There are also a few more after that...

Yeah, I was going to VIR last year, had it all set up. I got an email that said stock roll hoops wouldn't be allowed.

This is what it said on their website:
" SAFETY NOTE: OEM roll hoops (ie Z3, Boxter, S2000, MB CLK, etc) arenot allowed unless you have a four point rollbar. "

When I emailed for a clarification, this is what I got back:

"We would love to have you; however VIR DOES NOT allow OEM rollbars. Mosttracks are going this way, so you might have to consider putting a roll
bar in.

My personal opinion is that even though this is an educational SCHOOL,
you are traveling faster than you would on the street and would not put
my head in such an exposed situation. I am not sure that a tin roof is
that much better, but there is some framework around my head - not just
air.... This is my own opinion and not shared with some of my fellow
HPDErs but it is becoming the norm for the tracks.

Insurance rates are too high.

Sorry - Do you have another car???"

Yep, if you have a hardtop, even though it offers no real protection, you can run at VIR. That is what I was told in later emails with them.
