For those who have this installed do you have it always active? Thinking bout buying this but don't wanna hear it unless I'm at the track.

It would be easy to put a toggle switch on the speaker so you could turn it off.

looking at the wire diagram I would recommend putting installing a switch inline of the black ground wire to turn to whole unit off and not just the speaker:

It doesn't (or rarely) comes into play when on the street. Not an issue and no need for extra switches. I know someone that'll sell you a brand new one for pretty cheap. He was going to install it on his car but his new ecu has the option so he doesn't need it.

I would agree with this. I have mine installed in the normal configuration and it doesn't bother me much at all. I guess I have gotten used to it.

With that said, I usually yank it before I go to the Dragon.

Ya if you know someone who is selling one pm me the info I'm trying to prep for some upcoming events. Just picked up a windscreen camera mount and seatbelt locking stuff from modifry. Any recomendations for somewhere local to pickup a approved helmet locally? Not trying to borrow this time

I leave mine always active... but then I don't go tearing around the street at 9k rpms on a daily basis lol.

Even when I feel "inspired" to roll through first/second on the street though, the beep is fine. If you're using it to let you know when you need to shift (ie redline) then it is never an intrusive noise since your motor and the wind will be making a ton of noise in the first place.

Ya don't get me wrong I'm not all over the place but I enjoy a spirited exit ramp from time to time. No more tickets please getting old now lol.

Jeff helped me install mine, and I'll second (or third) the motion that it doesn't really come into play when driven daily. Mine is set to sound off at 8,300, 8,600, and 8,900 rpms. You need tiny hands to get to one of the wiring harnesses, but other than that it was pretty straight forward. Jeff was a great help as he had installed one before.
