well originally im from literally 3 blocks away from the school but i live north of Baltimore now in Towson. Its really not that bad man, dont listen to the hype, i grew up in downtown Baltimore and saw my share of crap but it was never crazy bad! Just stay out of certain areas at night lol. And depending on what part of town youre parking in you should be fine, theft isnt as much an issue as people who just dont know how to properly parallel park! Your bumper may take a tad beating depending on your neighbors! When ya moving in?
and welcome! City living is just that. Bumpers get screwed up, street parking sucks.. etc.. there are good/bad parts in Baltimore. I know of someone who had their top cut on a 2 week old car (bright red mustang...) that was parked on the street.. just so they could have his radio. I personally wouldn't park my s2k on the street there, but that's just me. Definitely a good idea to feel out the area first - and get to know your neighbors
i parked my S in the open on howard and 29th for 2 years... nothing ever happened to it. i parked it for 1 night in williamsport PA... and the top got slashed....

but other than that... i agree

Thanks for all of the responses. I think we're going to leave the S in PA until next year at least, but hopefully I'll still get to meet a bunch of you at a meet or something. We're thinking about going to the grand prix so if it works out hopefully then.

So a quick update here are some shots we took of the place we'll be moving into. All taken with a 35mm Nikkor f/1.8 mounted on a D7000. Should have used the 18mm though.

The Kitchen

The Dining Room (taken from in the kitchen)

Stairwell leading to 2nd floor (taken from doorway in picture above)

The Lower Level

Finally, what will probably become one of my favorite places in the house.

Welcome! I live north of Baltimore in Towson, but I often come down to the city on the weekends to go out drinking, see an Os game or hang out with friends. Driving in the city with the S isn't bad at all. As people have said, if your neighborhood has a parking lot or garage, that's awesome. Some do. I don't know if you know, but downtown is going to be the home to an indycar race in September, that'll be so cool to see. We're a social bunch, I think, most Ss that I pass exchange waves with me and most are down to get together and hang out, go for a cruise or whatever.
Hey steam! you live in donny brook? Ive seen a BB parked on Aigburth a ton of times in Towson!
That would be me!

haha, i agree with the palisades. i'd love to live there.

i live in a apartment complex called donnybrook that's like half a mile from campus and 60 or 70% of the residents are students, so right now the neighborhood is dead. but it's right next to a neighborhood with a swimming pool and really nice houses, maybe like 200-400k houses. ideally i would rent one of those type of houses with a couple friends from the many neighborhoods around. they're private and beautiful without being overdone.

many of the apartment complexes are corporate owned, donnybrook is owned by CRC Realty and they have like 15 or 20 neighborhoods around. i think they're all more or less the same, you just have to find a neighborhood that fits your needs. prices get better the farther you go from jobs and the towson and goucher campus.

Welcome! I lived a good portion of my childhood in West Baltimore near Mondawmin mall we Mid A folk try to stay active and I'm sure you will cross paths with many of us on here except for the winter time when all the S2K's migrate or hybernate to their own dwellings. I'm glad to see you made the right choice in color for your S!

Hope to meet you soon!

I'm doing A LOT of work on my car in the near future. I'm down for get-work-done-and-drink-beer meet or a just hang out meet.

My car goes into the shop thursday, the ambulance infront of me on the Jersey turnpikes exhaust fell off and tore up my bumper, ripped off front lip and burned my top so idk how long itll take to repaint it bumper to bumper and change the top but ill let you know when its done!
