1500 a month wont go too far if you live by yourself. if you can find a roomate it will be cheaper and easier to find a place

try archstone fairfax (now called amberleigh) next to inova fairfax hospital. We have a three bedroom townhouse for $1865 so im sure a one bedroom will be around $1500 or less. The commute isnt that bad to McLean (i know since i use to work there) but during Christmas Mclean just sucks!
Whatever you do, don't rent at Archstone of Monument park.....

I had some major problems with them, so bad I will never again live in a Archstone, or even Charles E. Smith property (they own archstone). A lot of it had to do with the property itself, but I was also extreme dissatisfied with their customer service as well.

If you are looking to rent, I would look on craigslist and look at private adds. We are currently renting a condo from a private onwer. We are much happier with arangement and quality of place. We also got a lot more for our money then renting from a corp. apartment company in the ballston/arlington area.

if you're in McLean I'd suggest the Dunn Loring area, its near the metro, close to 495, 66 and Gallows (as mentioned, very easy to get to McLean).
