Default need help! badly

well i ordered pss9s seeing as ive done multiple coilover installs before i thought it would be a breeze, WRONG. bilstein pss9 don't come with top hats so I had to remove oem ones which I've never done and I ****ed up now the spring is uncompressed and stuck, any advice? I borrowed a spring compressor from advance auto but its the kind u have to stick in the middle "****" =(

ANY help appreciated

I just want to get the car to move to maybe ptuning or something and have them do the rest this is just one big headache or if someone wants to make some money fix that and take off the top hats off the oem ones for me and I'll pay.

Let me know!

return that spring compressor and get the one you're supposed to use (the one that clamps the spring from the outside)! i made a mistake and borrowed that one the first time too.

Spring Compressors are cheap... less than 20 bucks at some places...

Removing the top hats is really a peice of cake, everything will be fine!!!!

Harbor freight has really cheap spring compressors ~$15 or so.

Yea... You used the wrong spring compressors. The ones you want should looks something like this...

You put one on either side of the spring outside the spring/shock assembly. Turn one five or six times then tighten the other side the same amount. It is important to keep the tension even.

Be careful! There is quite literally tons of pressure here. Go slow and take your time.

Get the correct compressors and you will be good to go.

OH SNAP i just realized what you wer etalking about.........you mean you cant push it down with your weight?

When i did my springs i just pushed the spring down far enough to put the shock part through the hole and just tightened it. maybe its different for the ones you have.

That works for re-assembly of aftermarket springs but not for tearing down the OEM spring/shock assembly. Unless you weigh like 400 pounds.

yeah, please don't try to remove the 14mm top nut when you have the stock springs in without a spring compressor, you could get seriously hurt and ruin your shocks.
