Nevermind
Off-chance...but very plausible (since it happened to me...
)
You may have picked up some scrap of plastic debris from the road that rested/melted on the hot exhaust? Can stink to high heavens
.
I was driving down the road one day and the wind/vortex from cars ahead of me had lazily drifted a subway sandwich bag (that clear plastic super-thin dealio?...)...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight under my car and it immediately melted to my exhaust. Blech! Smell stayed with the car for approx 2 days of driving.
Not saying that is *your* issue...but its possible is all.

dave,
I checked for plastic bags, im about to go back out and see if anything has formed underneath the car, and check again for plastic bags, it may also just be leftover diff fluid that didnt make it in that has yet to burn off, i just wanted to make sure its nothing serious, thats why i wanted to get some opinions from more experienced s owners, thanks man
