Yea, that's pretty bogus about the tires. I was excited until then. Give us street tire guys a chance. But, if my RE050A's are considered R-comp... well... FAIL.

If I may point something out...

I run Toyo RA-1's. I have what is generally considered to be a very good, competition grade suspension on my car. You guys STILL kick my ass... I was dead last in 80% of all of the auto-x's last season. There were only a few where I was ahead of other S2k owners.

Like it really matters all THAT much?

I know you guys like to split hundredths of seconds but come on...

Anywho... Just my $.02

Yep. A RE01R would be in the same category as a Hoho A6.
Its not that hard to distinguish between an actual summer tire and an r-comp Why are they going to class guys on a true street summer tire w/ those running competition tire oh well, i will be doing less CDC events this year anyways.

It's a matter of getting the R-comps to the event.

In the hands of a capable driver, yes it does matter that much.

You've driven R-comps and street tires -- can you really not tell a difference?

Wait a sec.... If you read the CDC forum, Ed made a correction.

The cut-off is now 140..

Actually, you just proved my point. It is all about improving as a driver.

I guess I am just not as competitive as you guys.

Of course it's about improving as a driver. I think you have more margin to improve on R-comps.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that I'm not driving 2+ hours each way to an autocross. It's not worth it for 6 minutes of run time.
