Wait a sec.... If you read the CDC forum, Ed made a correction.

The cut-off is now 140..

I wonder how hard it would be to put together a small local club. I found the timing system online for $600. Need a bunch of cones, a lot, and some insurance.

[QUOTE=e3opian,Feb 14 2008, 10:58 AM]It's a matter of getting the R-comps to the event.

Are you just running less events this year, or are you planning to run with a different group?

If I may point something out...

I run Toyo RA-1's. I have what is generally considered to be a very good, competition grade suspension on my car. You guys STILL kick my ass... I was dead last in 80% of all of the auto-x's last season. There were only a few where I was ahead of other S2k owners.

Like it really matters all THAT much?

I know you guys like to split hundredths of seconds but come on...

Anywho... Just my $.02
For reference, I drove Jeff's car one day at a test-n-tune back to back against my car. We have the same coilovers and similar tires (RA1's vs. NT01's). I was at about one second off my times in Jeff's car. I think the biggest difference was our alignment setting. My car has toe-in (Jeff's doesn't) and a bit more neg. camber in the rear than Jeff's, and my rear was a lot more planted than Jeff's. I found myself countersteering a lot more in Jeff's car and loosing time.

Don't get me wrong. I love CDC and I know they put in a ton of work to make everything happen. But Manassas is a huge loss to me...

It was more or less just thinking out loud.

You can run whatever you like. You should come out to an event this year.
Yeah, i'm gonna trailer my car up north for a few minutes of parking lot runs. I might make it to a couple events to take pictures of fellow NERDs though.
