Default New here

Finally registered for this site just wanted to say hey. I've been looking at getting a new car for a while and after a lot of searching have decided on the S2000. I live in Maryland and had a few questions if anyone has a chance to answer them.

How do you guys handle the winter time in these cars?

Since I'm looking now should I wait until the 2005's?

And does anyone know any good dealers in the area ?

Thanks guys.

First off: You need to read the post about several key issues that the dealers do not know to tell you as a new owner. About the special break-in oil. No V-TEC for the first 600 miles, I am not sure if this is still true with the RE tires on the 2004's but would assume so. The summer ultra high perfermance tires that come on the car (especially the S02) do NOT have any grip in temperatures below 50*F until you "put" some heat in them.

My S is my daily driver. I got caught out in a couple of inches of snow last December. I grew up in the north and understand driving on snow and ice. YOU NEED TO GET SNOW TIRES ON ALL FOUR CORNERS! Or leave it parked if calling for snow.

As far as 04 vs 05. They are not likely to change much at all as the 04 is new design. In my mind it depends on whether you plan to keep it along time. If so why wait months and miss some top down weather and the best driving experience you will ever have. If you are concerned about taking the depreciation hit you may want to wait.

Can't help with dealers in Maryland.

Wecome to the community and I hope to meet you at a meet.

Just out of curiosity what part (if any) did you NOT agree with? Or thought was Curious minds want to know. I do not want to past "mis-information" along if I stated something wrong.

the dealer never told me about the no v-tec before 600 miles.. nor did they tell me about the so2's having no grip under 50*F.....

now what happens if you did v-tec before 600 miles??? hummm....

however the dealer did tell me about the special oil...
